Soups On!

Winter is here and the soups on! We have easy recipes for you! Wether you are looking for vegetarian, chicken, or just creamy hearty soup, we have a few ideas to save you time, and bring you flavor! This is comfort food at its best. And just so easy to make. Sweet potato barley soup is a hearty blend of canned, frozen and fresh vegetables. 

You can use whatever you have in your pantry, fridge and freezer. We always start with a base of onions, garlic sautéed up, and then we just start to add in what we have on hand! That could be sweet potatoes, frozen veggies, canned beans, canned tomatoes, and broth. We always use Better than Bouillon base. Add in coconut milk, or cream or leave it as a broth base. Lentils, barley, rice, and pasta are favorite additions to complete the meal.

Freshly baked homemade buttermilk biscuits, bacon cheese muffins, cast iron cornbread or double cheddar popovers are the perfect side dish to serve. They are made with just a few basic ingredients, and can be on the table in no time! Oh and we suggest you make a double batch of these, cause you are gonna wanna have extra to pack for lunch with soup for the week!
