Lucky Charms Treats

Lucky Charms treats are magically delicious. Oh, and they are made with just three ingredients. Did I mention that they were magical? Okay, and who didn’t love this cereal growing up? We did not get the chance to have this type of cereal growing up in our house on a regular basis. When we did get a chance to pick a cereal, this was one that I would select.

Hearts, Stars, and Horseshoes. Clovers and Blue Moons. Unicorns, Rainbows, and Tasty Red Balloons. There were so many shapes, colors and stories behind all of the flavored and colorful marshmallows! I seriously would pick out all of my favorite! And I loved the way my cereal milk became a lovely hue! I would drink it up when I was finished!

These treats have extra butter and marshmallow to make them so gooey and chewy! We know you will love them!

I was traveling with some friends recently, and we were talking about all things nostalgic, and Lucky Charms cereal was mentioned. I said, I think I am gonna ask Bruce to make some Lucky Charms Treats this weekend. After the gym Saturday, we stopped at the store for a big box of Lucky Charms cereal, and a bag of marshmallows.

Lucky’s Story:

Somewhere over a rainbow in a magical forest lives a clever, playful, and mischievous leprechaun named Lucky.

His father was a wise man and knew it was Lucky’s destiny to bring magic from his world to the real world. He placed eight magical charms in Lucky’s hands as a way of protecting him along his journey and told Lucky to respect their magical powers and others he may encounter along the way.

As his legend grew, children everywhere coveted Lucky’s magical charms and hundreds of games of hide & seek ensued. Today, Lucky outwits and outsmarts those pesky kids, discovering (and losing) his magical charms, always with children hot on his heels. (Courtesy of LuckyCharms.com)

Let’s continue the magic of Lucky, by making these delicious treats!

Ingredients

Ingredients for Lucky Charms Treats:

  • 1 18.6 ounce box of Lucky Charms cereal
  • 10 tablespoons butter
  • 2 ½ cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • Prepare 13x9 pan by greasing with butter, or spraying with oil. Set aside.
  • Add butter to large pot. Begin to melt the butter over a medium heat. When butter is about 80% melted, add the marshmallows. Stir to melt marshmallows into the butter. Once completely melted, add half of the cereal, and stir. Add the balance of cereal, and continue to stir to completely mix.
  • Add cereal mixture to greased pan, and press down with a buttered spatula. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes. May cool longer.
  • Lay a sheet of parchment over the top of the Lucky Charms treats. Then put a cutting board over the parchment and flip pan over. Once the Lucky Charms treats come out of the pan, slice into 24 pieces.
  • Store the Lucky Charm treats in a sealed container. Will stay fresh for about a week.
