Watermelon Martini

A watermelon martini is the quintessential sign of summer at our house. The first watermelon martini I made was 10 years ago when we first built our home. We worked on this home plan for several years. I wanted a pantry large enough to walk into, and make cocktails in. And we have it! It is our bar, pantry, and coffee nook!We have a place to cut up fresh watermelon, and a sink. This way, Bruce can be making dinner in the kitchen, and I can be making a watermelon cocktail (and a mess) in the pantry!

This cocktail was deemed the “Wa-Tini”. Yep, my first fruity martini that I made! The fresh flavor of watermelon and vodka or gin is just so SUMMER!

This watermelon martini recipe can be made for 1 martini, but feel free to make up a pitcher of them! The key is 2 parts vodka and watermelon juice to 1 part lime juice and 1 part Cointreau. Of course you can switch to rum, or gin, and always make adjustments to your taste. If you give this watermelon martini recipe a try, let us know what you think.
